Pick of the Garden

Over the next few weeks, I will be showcasing a beautiful French Colonial that I just had the pleasure of touring in Florence Gardens. A flourishing neighborhood nestled in the heart of growing Gulfport, the 420-acre development combines timeless Southern architecture and picturesque community spaces with the latest energy-efficient building materials and state-of-the-art technology to create a place that gives you the best of both worlds... old charm and modern conveniences.

French Colonial homes were a 1700's eclectic "Creole" architecture, built for the hot, wet climates of Mississippi and Louisiana and featured designs traits from France, the Caribbean and the West Indies. The features usually include thin wooden columns, wide porches called "galleries", no interior hallways and French doors.

This home has been meticulously laid out and furnished to give not only all the comforts of home, but also that elegant look within that will keep you mesmerized and unable to leave the first room you set foot in. Beautiful custom hardwood floors throughout, cool colors and a touch of old fashioned New Orleans antiques give it that perfect "Old South" feel. No detail was left out from the ornamental walls to the sliding antique bathroom doors and claw foot tub. I enjoyed every minute of getting to experience this home as well as spend time with the amazing family that resides there. As the pictures are posted you will see what an amazing amount of beauty it holds.
